Spring and fall are ideal times to plant hydrangeas. But if you avoid temperature extremes you can safely and successfully plant hydrangeas throughout the year.The Let's Dance Rhythmic Blue hydrangea grows in full sun to part shade and prefers moist, well-drained, fertile soil. In hot climates, hydrangeas will generally perform best with some shade. This variety's color is affected by soil pH.To maintain the coveted deepest blue color keep your soil pH between 5 and 5.5.
